Onboard Administrator firmware release notes

It is very important to not blindly update firmware and therefore I suggest to read firmware release notes. For example for version 4.30 of Onboard Administrator you can find what has been fixed or what kind of new features are added.

  1. Hi there, your site is very informative!

I had a question regarding firmware updates. We have a C7000 enclosure that with varoius G7, G8 and G9 blades, along with 2 Brocade 8/24c SAN switches.

Is there a process or path you have to follow when upgrading one firmware on a certain component. A HP tech once told me all the components had to upgraded simultaneously. We don’t have any support with HP at the moment – our security team is trying to get us to update the firmware on the brocades but I wanted to see if by doing it would we “break” anything in the process!

    • Hi John,

Thanks a lot for your comment. From my experience I would first check compatibility of servers/OS against of new Brocade SAN Switches. In second step I would patch them with latest PSP and then perform SAN Switches firmware upgrade.
